We are a team with different expertise based at GTIIT-Guangdong Technion in Shantou, China consisting of Andrea Cioncolini (associate prof. at GTIIT), Damiano Padovani (associate prof. at GTIIT), and Angelo Alessandri (visiting at GTIIT and full prof. at the University of Genoa, Italy). We work on a multidisciplinary research project on an integrated methodology to visualize (machine vision), dynamically track (state-reconstruction), and actively manipulate with magnetic fields both solids and liquids. The methodology will find applications in biomedical engineering, robotics, and high heat flux cooling applications. We are looking for a Post-Doc Researcher in the area of magnetic actuation to support our effort. The role will ideally combine experiments, fundamental physical modelling, and numerical simulations, with a relative importance of each area that can be tailored based on the candidate expertise/interest. Disseminating the research findings at conferences and through journal publications is an integral part of the job.
Ph.D. degree in engineering or maths/physics, previous knowledge/experience in magnetic fields and/or magnetic actuation is desired.
